| | Ever fancy listening to Japanese pop songs? | | I am no Japanese but I've always found Japanese pop songs very nice. A slight, soothing exotic twist to things. If you have not tried it, here's a free online station you can have a go. Check out http://www.smartradio.sg and on the right side (scroll down a little when you are there), click on the "JK-Pop" link. I have taken a screenshot to guide you and you can see it at http://athena.divshare.com/files/2007/03/01/177373/this.jpg .When you click on the link, another browser window will pop up so you might need to enable it if they ask. You will get a window that looks like this http://athena.divshare.com/files/2007/03/01/177367/playing.jpg . After that, just sit back, relax and enjoy.See if you like this, do share your thoughts on Japanese pop songs. Hope you like them, like me.;-) | |

| | This year is Arashi's year in Japan. | | There's no doubt about it. As for now Arashi has:
*no1 single on Oricon Yearly Chart (Belive/Kumori Nochi Kasei)
*no2 single on Oricon Yearly Chart (Ashita no Kioku/Crazy Moon)
*no4 single on Oricon Yearly Chart (Everything)
*no1 DVD on Oricon Yearly Chart (DVD form their AAA 2008 tour)
*no3 album on Oricon Yearly Chart (1999-2009 5x10 All the BEST)
Considering their BEST album is charting for the second week right now I belive they can even get no1 album overall this year*_* Could their 10th anniversary be any better?:D
| | Do You Enjoy Listening To Music In Foreign Languages? | | I love listening to music in foreign languages. I don't understand most of what is being said, and a wonderful friend of mine has even agreed to translate a couple of songs for me that I really like, because I'm curious as to what they mean. Most of the time I just like to listen to music for the vlice and the sound of the music itsself, not necessarily for the words. Howewver, when I find songs that I really really really like, then I'll ask someone to translate them for me. Do you like listening to music in languages that you may not understand? Why or why not? What languages do you prefer? Those who know me know that I really like Croatian, Serbian, Russian, and German music. | |

| | Cowboy Bebop- the movie! | | Have you heard that Cowboy Bebop (the anime/manga series) might be made into a live action movie?
I didn't hear about it until recently. The anime movie "Akira" may also be made into a live action film. I was never really much of a fan of either, but I am a big advocate of japanese pop culture, and I'm really excited that these anime are getting Hollywood attention.>w<
Keanu Reeve would get the lead role if Cowboy bebop is made into a movie- he talked about it in an MTV news interview recently. He also said the the film is still in pre-production and he has only seen a draft of the screenplay.:o
I think the movie makers really need to be careful when making these live action adaptations- they can either be awesome or total, stupid flops (like Speedracer and Astroboy).
| | Foreign music: Jpop or Kpop anyone? | | Does anyone here listen to Jpop or Kpop--Japanese pop or Korean pop--music?
I listen to various types of music regardless of language and some of my favorite artists BoA, Utada Hikaru (she sang the theme for Kingdom Heart),Ayumi Hamasaki, etc.A lot of music from Japan and Korea are influenced by western music, but somehow, I'm attracted to them anyway--more so than American music. I find it hard to listen to mainstream american music because they contain a lot of explicit and degrading lyrics (not all mainstream, but most). So maybe because I don't understand the language in other foreign music, it's easier for me to like the songs? What do you guys think? For those who do listen to foreign music.
For those who don't, why not?
